Listening to Sultan is like opening a time capsule, like revisiting some of Salman Khan's biggest musical hits from Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai), Dabangg (440 Volt) and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (Jag Ghoomeya, its female version sung by Neha Bhasin faring significantly better). The spirited title song (Sukhwinder Singh) and its rousing counterpart Rise of Sultan are moderately engaging, as are the feel-good bluegrass-techno number Sachi Muchi and Nooran Sisters'-led rustic-rap fusion Tuk Tuk. The heavy Rangrez hangover aside, Papon's flawless voice is the major draw of Bulleya. Sultan relies on tried and tested sounds, offering little by way of new.
