Heavy Rotation: A$AP Ferg, James Blake, William Tyler & More

Are you listening to Sturgill Simpson's A Sailor's Guide to Earth? Because I am...

I Remember (AlunaGeorge) - Where I'm In Control sounded like yet another attempt to cash in on Leon On, I Remember fares a trifle better with its synthy EDM loops, although it's not without its Where Are Ü Now vibes.

Fading Lines (Amber Arcades) - Annelotte de Graff's hazy, shimmery take on indie-rock is absolutely absorbing.

Strive (A$AP Ferg ft. Missy Elliott) - Is Strive the most mainstream A$AP Ferg has ever sounded? May be, but the song, along with its catchy piano-driven rhythm, is one heckuva buoyant dance anthem.

Trauma (Fear of Men) - A synthy single that's both melodic and ominous in equal measure.

Bending to the Lash (Horse Lords) - Can Bending to the Lash be called experimental music? Because that's exactly what it sounds like, blending elements of electronic music, jazz and rock to deliver a vibrant, shape-shifting, if a little cacophonous, instrumental.

So Well (The Invisible) - Mellow, ear-pleasing synth fare from the London-based alternative rock trio The Invisible.

Timeless (James Blake) - Electronic soul experimenter James Blake has finally announced that his new album Radio Silence is complete and ready for release (Yay!), in addition to releasing a new single from that very album. Like the gorgeous Modern Soul that preceded it, Timeless carries an ambient synth-filled sound that builds into a moody crescendo of sorts. Lovely!

pH (Parc en Ciel) - Don't be fooled by its slow start, you are in for a febrile synthy ride starting 1:26 mark.

Ocean (Rogue Wave) - I seem to not get enough of synths. Here's one more bright, summery song from the California-based indie rock outfit Rogue Wave from their upcoming album Delusions of Grand Fur. It's a song that undulates, like a roller-coaster, like waves on the ocean.

Gone Clear (William Tyler) - Engrossing piece of folk music (those chimes!) that feels so out of the world, you feel like you never want it to end.
