Heavy Rotation: Coldplay, Khruangbin, Mark McGuire & More

That Ellie Goulding's big pop outing Delirium has left me disappointed would be an understatement. The catchy but okay'ish On My Mind and the similar-sounding Codes aside, there isn't a single track that I find worth coming back for a repeat listen. I expected way more!

Dancing Shoes (Benoit & Sergio) - Get ready to put on your dancing shoes and glide along this slinky disco-meets-house-meets-synthpop earworm of a song.

Adventure of a Lifetime (Coldplay) - The swirling single from Coldplay's possibly last album A Head Full of Dreams sounds like a curious crossover between Princess of China and Daft Punk's disco-funk Get Lucky, yet I must say it's hard not to get hooked to it.

Game Over (Cool Uncle ft. Mayer Hawthorne) - Bobby Caldwell and Jack Splash team up alongside Mayer Hawthorne for a smooth retro song. And that sax!

Repulsor (Crescendo) - Warp speed drum beats and guitar riffs will make you swoon over the dreamy but frenetic single from the LA-based dream pop trio.

Young (Frankie Cosmos aka Greta Kline) - Frankie Cosmos's Young, from her latest EP Fit Me In, is mellow synthy goodness at its absolute best.

White Gloves (Khruangbin) - A gorgeous, relaxing tune that will leave you transfixed by its simplicity. And the genre has a name too, Thai funk!

Sons Of The Serpent (Mark McGuire) - A stunning 11-minute trip to bliss, almost reminiscent of Conner Youngblood's The Birds of Finland.

Chapita (Mind Enterprises aka Andrea Tirone) - Intoxicatingly groovy!

7th Ray (Miranda Lee Richards) - A soft folk-rock number that's both ear-pleasing and uplifting.

First Mythz, Peace Upzzz (Rustie aka Russell Whyte) - Manic synth-driven electronic pieces and amazingly sublime.
