Madno (Mithoon, Lamhaa) - Easily the best from Mithoon, so entrancing and tranquil in Kshitij Tarey and Chinmayi's stupendous vocals. Although I must say, Woh Ajnabee, Beete Lamhein (The Train), Woh Lamhe (Zeher), Tere Bin (Bas Ek Pal), Javeda Jindagi and Maula Mere (Anwar) come a close second!
O Jaana, Maahi (Raaz: The Mystery Continues) - If Raju Singh ropes in a fantastic-sounding K.K. to do the singing in O Jaana, brother duo Sharib-Toshi deliver a sweeping stunner of a melody in Maahi.
Piya Jaise Ladoo Motichur Wale, Rafa Dafa Kiya Nahin Jaaye (Himesh Reshammiya, Radio) - Himesh's most recognisable chartbusters are perhaps Jhalak Dikhlaja and Aashiqui Mein Teri, but Rekha Bhardwaj wows in the transfixing shehnai-sarangi led piece Piya Jaise, while Himesh sounds so unlike himself and for the better in the breezy Ilaiyaraaja'esque Rafa.
Awaaz (Sachin-Jigar, F.A.L.T.U) - The anthemic nature of the melody aside, it features a gorgeous flute interlude that was my phone's ringtone at one point!
Saibo (Sachin-Jigar, Shor in the City) - While Karma is a Bitch is every bit the angsty anthem sung effortlessly by Suraj Jagan, it's Shreya and Tochi Raina who mesmerise with their top-notch rendition of Saibo.
Rangrez (Krsna, Tanu Weds Manu) - Bewitching is the word! A complex qawwali sung effortlessly by the composer himself and Wadali Brothers.
Tu (Hitesh Sonik, My Friend Pinto) - A dreamy, whispery winner, with standout vocals from Sunidhi Chauhan.
Piyu Bole, Kasto Mazza, Raat Hamari Toh, Soona Man Ka Aangan (Shantanu Moitra, Parineeta) - K. S. Chithra, Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal sound simply splendid in what's a lovely throwback to a bygone era of Indian film music.
Chanda Re (Eklavya: The Royal Guard), Jheeni Jheeni (Phir Kabhi), Khushboo Sa (Khoya Khoya Chand) (Shantanu Moitra) - Ethereal and enchanting, Hamsika Iyer takes the serene melodies to an altogether whole new level.
