Composer(s): Anirudh Ravichander

Pakkam Vanthu's techno-nadaswaram-thavil mix is mostly nondescript and in Paalam, Shankar Mahadevan collaborates with Anirudh for the first time in what is a passable multi-genre hodge-podge. Nee Yaaro's sweeping pathos rides superbly on K. J. Yesudas's heartfelt rendition and Anirudh's effective arrangements, even as the theme track makes for an intriguing instrumental, literally evoking sword swooshes to spruce it up. Vishal Dadlani nails the breezy guitar-based melody Aathi with his fantastic vocals, and in Bad Eyes, the composer whips up a zingy instrumental complete with water splashes, flute and sitar. Selfie Pulla, sung by actor Vijay and Sunidhi Chauhan, is trendy, all credit to Madhan Karky, and absurdly foot-tapping. Kaththi is nothing to write home about, but is fun while it lasts and much better than Anirudh's recent outings.
