Jal De is outright impressive; be it in terms of the spell-binding arrangements employed or singer Shubha Mudgal's stupendous vocals, the song's rich tapestry of sounds makes it a must-listen. The fusion in You Fill My Life works seamlessly and is aided every bit by a superb rendition from Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan and Suzanne D'Mello. Zaalima's racy appeal is characterized by Sonu Nigam's altered voice and the heady percussion on show, while the short but impactful Paani Si Behti Jaye is Ambarish Das's show all the way. It's nice to see 18 instrumentals in a soundtrack, and although most are situational in nature, you cannot deny the sheer orchestral variety that's particularly evident in The Sweet Dream of Water, Mesmerized by Rann (for their lovely ghatam base), Nature and the MachineDried Up Tears and Ankhiyan - The Anthem. Just like water, Jal is free-flowing and music to the ears!
