Jashn-e-Ishqa, and to a lesser extent Rhythm of Jashn-e-Ishqa, builds into a rousing anthem and is well rendered by Javed Ali and Shadab Faridi. Jiya's haunting orchestration reminds one of Sohail's own Saiyaara, but is nevertheless a splendid listen bolstered by Arijit Singh's effective singing. Vishal Dadlani, KK, Bappi Lahiri and Neeti Mohan get your feet tapping with the catchy folk-rock mix Tune Maari Entriyaan, while its Bangla makeover sees Monali Thakur accompanying Bappi Da. Asalaam-e-Ishqum despite Neha Bhasin ably leading on the vocal front ends up as a just about passable retro-disco track. The plaintive Saiyaan is the kind of song that one would normally associate with a Bhatt film but Shahid Mallya's heartfelt rendition is a big plus. The title song, describing the two lead characters Vikram and Bala, makes good use of banjo, even as the qawwali Mann Kunto Maula fares much better in the classical version than its rock version, with the singers Shadab Faridi and Altamash Faridi delivering their parts outstandingly well. Gunday is altogether a competent effort from Sohail Sen.
