Music Review: Desingu Raja (Tamil)

Shreya Ghoshal is simply superb in the Ilaiyaraaja-styled lilting melody Ammadi Ammadi, while Oru Ora Ora Paarvai, with its Carnatic flourishes, is an arresting composition that gains pitch-perfect vocal from Balram. Unnikrishnan and Harini's flawless vocals work big time for the countryside folk track Nelavattam Nethiyile, as does the pulsating Yaarume Kekkave Illai that sees S. P. Balasubrahmanyam doing the honours like only he can. Pom Pom Pom rides on a catchy folk rhythm aided by spirited rendition from Vijay Prakash. Imman continues his golden run with Desingu Raja.
