Music Review: Soodhu Kavvum (Tamil)

Composer(s): Santhosh Narayanan
Film: Soodhu Kavvum

Come Na Come, with perky vocals from Ganesh Kumar B and Chinna, opens as if a schoolteacher is teaching something, but soon turns into a wonderful rap track! The jazzy feel of Mama Douser, accompanied by the pianos and trumpets, is completely entertaining and to say that Andreah Jeremiah has done a wonderful job of the singing would be an understatement. Kovai Jaleel is a perfect fit for the retro'ish and invigorating Ellam Kadandhu Pogumada while Sudden Delight's (Rob Mass) trancelike arrangements are absolutely delightful. The short Sa Ga (Divya Ramani) is Santhosh's show all the way, the gorgeous use of violins are just mind-blowing as Gaana Bala and Andony Dasan admirably rock the captivating and electro-pop styled kuthu number Kasu Panam! Soodhu Kavvum's music is mighty unique to Tamil and Santhosh Narayanan proves he is a talent to look out for! I'm impressed!
