Book Preview: Inferno

Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, his most popular novel and a worldwide bestseller which has sold 81 million copies till date, has forever remained the archetype for gazillions of conspiracy thrillers that we see on book stands today. Hence it's no surprise that Brown sticks to his own template in the upcoming thriller Inferno featuring Harvard Symbologist Robert Langdon for the fourth time.

Inferno
And now it's the turn of Italy after Langdon's adventures at the Vatican (Angels & Demons), France (The Da Vinci Code) and Washington D. C. (The Lost Symbol), back in time to the fourteenth century with a mystery set around Dante Alighieri's Inferno, the first part of his epic poem Divine Comedy.

Reading the excerpt that was released coinciding the 10th anniversary of The Da Vinci Code reiterates his penchant for ending each chapter on a cliffhanger that's enough to send your adrenalin rushing as Langdon tries to solve the puzzle at hand.

That also means there has been little improvement in the writing style, although it's quite difficult to judge by just reading the two chapters at hand. The prologue opens in Florence where a man evades his pursuers and decides to take his own life rather than part with a devastating secret (you guessed right!) they were after. Soon we see Robert Langdon emerging from a nightmare only to realize that he has been admitted to a hospital after a severe accident. But was that an attempt on his life? Will there be more to come? You will have to wait till May 14th to read the book!

In the meanwhile you can read the excerpt here from Dan Brown's official website.
