Music Review: Annayum Rasoolum

Krishna Kumar better known as K, after some impressive work in Aarohanam and Mugamoodi, is making inroads into Mollywood with Annayum Rasoolum. Sung by Shahabaz Aman, Kaayalinarike is a soothing folk mix and the harmonium-laden arrangements are very interestingly incorporated. Andrea Jeremiah is simply superb in the short yet captivating Kando Kando; the mesmerizing violin bridge being no less impressive either. With top-notch singing from Shweta Mohan and Anand Aravindakshan, Vazhivakkil is absolutely dreamy and brilliant, and the orchestration employs guitar, violin and santoor to stunning effect. Anand goes solo in the engaging rock-flavored Yaaname while Shahbaz Aman rounds up the soundtrack with a heartfelt rendition in the minimally arranged Zammiluni. K's Annayum Rasoolum suits the Malayali sensibilities very well. Keep up the good run!
