Music Review: Dabangg 2

One must acknowledge that Dabangg had great masala songs that clearly catered to the commercial tastes of the movie. Composer duo Sajid-Wajid are back again in its sequel Dabangg 2, but is it worth listening to? We shall soon find out. Dagabaaz Re, like Tere Mast Mast, sees Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shreya Ghoshal and is quite mellow and ear-pleasing, the incorporation of veena particularly standing out. Pandey Jee Seeti (Mamta Sharma, Wajid, Shreya Ghoshal) is pretty average but nevertheless should be a hit in dance circuits. Fevicol Se (Mamta Sharma, Wajid, Keerthi Sagathia), the new item number to take on Munni, feels outdated and so is the case with Saanson Ne. Sonu Nigam's vocals are its only solace (don't bother with Tulsi Kumar). Dabangg Reloaded (Sukhwinder Singh), as you might have guessed, is a rework of Udd Udd Dabangg and is outright messy. Dabangg 2 stays so faithful to the original, including in the choice of tunes and singers! That's what you call a true sequel. Hope the movie has something different to offer.
