Music Review: English Vinglish

Badla Nazara, with its English-Hindi lyrical patois, is an exuberant listen and Shilpa Rao aces the song with typical ease. Amit himself sings the gorgeous folky melody Dhak Dhuk (that flute!), while Manhattan's addictive synth vibe makes for a lively lyrical jaunt through the city of New York. The beautifully composed percussion-driven Gustakh Dil is complemented by the pitch-perfect vocals of Shilpa Rao, and Navrai Majhi, with its rhythmic folk beat, is easily likeable, with Sunidhi Chauhan, Natalie Di Luccio and Neelambari Kirkire delivering a spirited rendition of the melody. Amit Trivedi is yet to outdo his career beginnings, but English Vinglish is nonetheless gratifying!
