Music Review: Aarohanam

After an impressive debut in Myshkin's crime thriller Yuddham Sei comes K's Aarohanam. Thappaattam (Ranjini Chander, K, Sharadha, Harish) is an instantly addictive dance-floor scorcher, interspersed with dappan koothu and bouncy beats, while Indha Vaan Veli switches gears completely for an exceptional melody that gains immensely from Anand Aravindakshan's heartfelt rendition. Dhisai Ariyaadhu (Vandana Srinivasan) is a shorter, yet beautiful, take on the former, even as it takes the form of two soul-stirring instrumentals Indha Vaan Veli Flute Version and Ode to MotherhoodI Won't Give Up is another gorgeous theme piece, accentuated further by a stupendous use of tabla and flute. K is once again top-notch in Aarohanam. A job well-done!

P.S.: The review has been updated to correct the name of the composer.
