Music Review: Shanghai

Propped by a punchy beat, Bharat Mata Ki Jai is an enthusiastic listen, while Imported Kamariya's folky flourishes get solid vocal purchase in Richa Sharma. Nandini Srikar (with vocal backing from Shekhar Ravjiani and Arijit Singh) is brilliant in the mesmerising melody Duaa, and Khudaaya, which follows next, is not far behind either, backed by an outstanding tune that makes for a splendorous listen. With Raja Hasan confidently leading the vocals, the rousing Morcha is anthemic, even as Vishnu Sahasranamam mantra (Srivatsa Krishna) caps off the album on a pious note. Shanghai is Vishal-Shekhar's stupendous show yet again after a blockbuster soundtrack in Kahaani.
