Apple to Embrace USB Type-C on iPhone?

We all know, going by the continuous stream of leaks, the new iPhone will cost north of $1,000, come with an edge-to-edge curved OLED display, support wireless charging, and ditch its iconic home button for a distinct acoustics-driven (?) touch-enabled area. But here is the biggest surprise. Apple is reportedly planning to drop its proprietary Lightning port in favour of USB Type-C, according to a latest report from the Wall Street Journal. I know it's the season of crazy iPhone rumours, but this is still too good to be true. But perhaps not too crazy given its adoption in MacBook Pro last year.
