Music Review: Balle Vellaiya Thevaa (Tamil)

Haricharan and Sanjana Kalmanje power Kan Vatchutta's arresting folk-laced melody, the kazoo employed in the background adding immensely to its charm. The title song goes for a punchy folk-rock fusion vibe (its Club Mix version is more or less the same tune with some thumping beats thrown in), but Aasa Theera Aadikkalam is hyper-energetic folk fare, well supported by Sathyaprakash and Kovai Sarala on the vocals. Darbuka Siva's Balle Vellaiya Thevaa doesn't live up to his promising debut, but is still an eminently enjoyable listen.
