Hola Amigo and its second variant Hola Senorita are both high on funktronica and trap but the songs themselves barely pass muster. The violin outro in the latter is however a lovely touch. Sean Roldan infuses Kadavulae Vidai with so much emotion, even as Anirudh adorns the gorgeous melody with a folky backdrop. Its Reprise version, on the other hand, is comparatively weaker, as is Simbu-sung Peiyophobilia which despite his exuberant singing sounds customary at best. Pori Pathi Vizhum is almost chant-like, the feverish electronic-rap tune benefiting immensely from Diwakar and Divine's sprightly singing. Sid Sriram's Alladhe Siragiye is no different, embracing a catchy techno vibe that's rhythmically charged and bursting with melody. With three standout compositions, Anirudh makes quite a heady intoxicating outing with Rum.
