Music Review: Gethu (Tamil)

Thillu Mullu is a blatant Mersalaayitten copy and no amount of Harris Jayaraj-isation can mask it, but to give credit where it's due, Naresh Iyer and Ranina Reddy turn in a buoyant vocal performance. Thaen Kattru, likewise reeks of Pookkalae Sattru Oyivedungal, but the mellifluous semi-classical tune works very well in Haricharan and Shashaa Tirupathi's captivating rendition. Adiyae Adiyae has that typical Harris stamp all over it, its heard before feel mitigated to some extent by singers Karthik and Shamili. If Yevanda Ivan is heavy theme material, Mutta Bajji is yet another attempt to recreate Venaam Machaan, and that's all there is to it (curious that the lyric goes Aaluma Doluma, when the chorus sounds like Adhaaru Adhaaru, both being Ajith films!). Gethu is Harris repeating himself all over again!
