Music Review: Billa Ranga (Telugu)

Melam Moge is one hell of a Carnatic-dubstep fusion thoroughly enlivened by Chinna's singing. If the equally enjoyable hip-hop'ish Gangs of Ditchpally (Rap Arunraja Kamaraj) playfully invokes actor Vijaykanth, Naa Kooda (Chinna) takes this madness to an all new level, yet managing to stay mighty enjoyable. Raa Balamani, again in Chinna's vocals, is an interestingly composed slow-paced folk, while Santhosh himself gets behind the mic for the sprightly Oopiri Janda. Ranina Reddy's oomphy rendition does wonders wonders for the club dance number Raja Ra, as the composer reuses one of his own tunes from Soodhu Kavvum intact in Come Na Come. Santhosh Narayanan makes a fantastic debut in Telugu, and proves he's here to stay!
