Movie Review: Drive

Drive, a meditative action-drama exploring the classic heist-gone-wrong story adapted from the 2005 James Sallis novel of the same name, is one for keeps. Set in Los Angeles and directed under the able hands of Nicolas Winding Refn, the gripping neo-noir crime thriller gains tremendously from Ryan Gosling as the anonymous getaway driver who falls in love with a single mother next door, and is subsequently forced to take part in a botched million dollar heist when her debt-ridden husband returns home from prison. A must watch concoction of action and love, the film is further bolstered by stellar performances from the ensemble cast and an excellent background score by Cliff Martinez.
